Ben serves on three Fund III company boards. His business experience includes 37 years with IBM/Lexmark Lexington, Ky. Ben started his career in Lexington IBM Research/Development and had many management and VP GM roles in R&D, Manufacturing, Marketing, Sales and P&L management. In 1987 he was asked to take a role at New York IBMs headquarters. He returned after a one-year assignment to Lexington and was instrumental in moving the printer work in IBM Charlotte to Lexington, which combined all the printer work. Lexmark was then spun out of IBM in 1991 as a stand-alone $1B startup company. Over the next years Ben helped form the company and launched 60 printers that helped the company go public in 1995. It grew rapidly. He retired in 2016. Ben has also served as a Board Member of Robinson Nugent a public company. He helped the company to a turn around and sale to 3M for a 5X multiple for shareholders. He served on the Advisory Boards of the UK and UL engineering school and the KSEF board. He has a BS and Masters in Electrical Engineering from UL Speed and studies toward an MBA at UK and Xavier universities.
